Network Activity Indicator for Windows 7

Ever since the introduction of Windows 7, Microsoft replaced the network activity icon (that resides in the taskbar) with a static icon showing if there is a network connection instead of including the network activity as well. I would think that their resoning behind this is that in the States, everyone is on a very fast connection and that ping rates are so low that you would almost instantly get to your site without needing to know if there is any activity on your connection. Even so, for some, this is a very handy status especially if you're sitting there waiting for a flash or whatever content to load, not knowing if the site is overloaded or not, etc etc.

Anyway, if you are one of many who've missed this feature, there is a third-party tool that you can download over @ IT Samples to re-enable this feature. Even Microsoft themselves recommends it.
