Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 Cameras Receive Firmware Update for 3D Panoramas

WOW! Sony is all guns and blazes with 3D development. Their 3D TV only came out not too long ago and now their ultra-slinky NEX series cameras will go 3D as well with the help of a new firmware update allowing you to shoot 3D panoramas.

With the firmware update, the camera would be able to collect depth information. Personally am not sure how well this is going to go for Sony but I think not bad for a first attempt by anyone for the consumer market.

This is what you get when you update your camera.
- Improvement of 'normal' 2D Sweep Panorama shooting;
- Decreased power drain when the camera is switched off;
- Quicker start-up in low-light conditions.

For more information head over to their press release. Otherwise head over to Sony Support to grab the update.

Head over to Amazon.co.uk/Amazon.com to pick up one of these cameras if you're keen to start shooting 3D!
