England vs All Blacks (29/11/2008)

I managed to get a couple of tickets for the England vs. All Blacks (New Zealand) Grand Slam final at Twickenham last week. It was my first time to Twickenham and being the Grand Slam final I was really looking forward to it. Needless to say I was there to support the All Blacks even though I live in London now. A Kiwi is always a Kiwi!

Sitting there in the stands in the cold weather, the first half was touch and go. It was a pretty boring first half. All they did was kick the ball around back and forth, a couple of penalties and Daniel Carter missing about 4-5 penalties. What’s going on DC? Too much cheese and too much sun bathing in Perpignan is it?

Anyway the second half was where all the excitement was. Within the first two minutes the English offensive team was strong and they were moments away from scoring a try. But the All Blacks came back even stronger with Mills Muliaina scoring two tries for the team and a try from Ma'a Nonu. It was just simply AWESOME with a final score of 32 – 6.

If Dan had stepped up his performance it would have been somewhere like 47 – 6.
